Your Beach Buddy Guide  ·  Inlet Beach, Eastern 30A

Inlet Beach Regional Beach Access

The eastern anchor of 30A — free parking, real restrooms, lifeguards in season, and nearly 1,500 feet of Gulf frontage to spread out on. Here’s how to use it.

Big, Flat, and Easy to Reach

Inlet Beach RBA sits on a 16.9-acre county parcel with 1,429 feet of Gulf frontage — one of the largest public accesses on all of 30A. It’s ground level throughout, no stairs anywhere, which makes it one of the easiest accesses on the whole corridor for strollers, wagons, and anyone who doesn’t want to haul gear down a dune.

Three separate access points share this stretch of beach — known as 2A, 2B, and 2C. Most people use the main boardwalk; the third, tucked around the south end, is worth finding if you want more room.

Parking — The Honest Version

Free Lot, No Stairs to the Sand

The free county lot fills up on peak summer days, so plan on arriving early if you want to park close. The good news: with three separate access points feeding the same beach, you’ve got options if the main lot’s packed.

  • Free parking right at the access — no fee, no permit needed
  • Ground level throughout — no stairs, easy with strollers and wagons
  • Drinking fountains and outdoor rinse showers at the boardwalk
  • ADA accessible from the lot to the beach

If the main boardwalk (2A) is crowded, the south-end access (2C) sees a lot less foot traffic.

What’s Actually There

Built-Out, Not Just a Boardwalk

This is a full regional access with real infrastructure — not a path and a bike rack:

  • Restrooms and outdoor rinse showers
  • Free drinking fountains
  • Lifeguards on duty in season
  • Beach chair & umbrella rentals right at the access
  • ADA accessible throughout

16.9 county-owned acres and 1,429 feet of Gulf frontage means there’s genuine room to spread out, even when the lot’s full.

“One of the few accesses on this end of 30A where a permitted sunset bonfire is genuinely part of the plan.”

The Beach Itself

Room to Sit, Not a Sliver of Sand

With 1,429 feet of Gulf frontage spread across three access points, this rarely feels as packed as the smaller accesses further west, even in peak season.

A few things worth knowing before you go:

  • Bonfires: with a South Walton Fire District permit — required, apply before your visit
  • Dogs: require an annual Walton County permit, issued only to property owners and full-time residents — visitors can’t get one on their own, but may bring a dog under a host’s permit, leashed, 3:30 p.m.–8:30 a.m.
  • Lifeguards: on duty in season — always check the flag color before swimming
If You Want Options

Not the Only Way to the Water Out Here

Inlet Beach RBA is the big regional access, but it’s not the only one nearby. Wall Street Public Beach Access is one block over — a ground-level walk-up with no car parking, easy if you’re already on foot or bike.

Phillips Inlet Beach Access, at the western edge of the neighborhood near Rosemary Beach, is a quieter natural dune gap with street parking and one of the best sunset views on this end of 30A.

And if you’re chasing space on a slammed day, Ed Walline RBA anchors the far west end of the highway — the other big regional access on 30A.

Know Before You Go

  • Parking fills early on summer weekends and holidays — arrive early, or try the quieter south-end access point (2C).
  • Lifeguards are seasonal. Always check the beach flag color before you get in the water.
  • Dogs need a Walton County permit — issued only to property owners and full-time residents. Visitors can’t get one on their own.
  • Bonfires need a permit from South Walton Fire District — apply before your visit. Glass and alcohol rules apply per Walton County.
